Social Networking and Other Helpful Tools
There are several other websites and tools I now understand how to use. I believe several of these will come in handy in my life and are great for educators at almost every level. There are several types of social networking websites that can benefit communication not only between both the student and teachers, but also between parents, students, and teachers as well. There are also articles and sites that offer advice for beginning teachers using aspects of technology that they may not have used before.
Facebook is a very popular social media site. It works well for techers to create groups for each class they have. They can share links to homework, articles to read for fun, and can answer any questions their students have. Its also a great way for students to question one another and connect outside of the classroom.

Twitter is also a very popular social media site. It also works well for teachers because you can create a "hashtag" for each class you have and can easily follow others for informational gain. It also works well for students because they can see other students' tweets and if they see somehting they like, they can retweet it.

Google offers a lot of different tools that are great for both educators and students. While working on a document, teachers can share it with others to work collaboratively. It is great for group projects for students because they see the changes in live time. Students can also create presentations similar to PowerPoint presentations and work at the same time as the other group members.

This article talks about a use of technology in the classroom. A high school Spanish teacher used video podcast for her Spanish 3 class. Each team made a movie trailer similar to an actual movie trailer. It was a great way to use their Spanish verbal, written, and listening skills. It was a great way for students themselves to see their own progress as well as the progress of other students around them.
